Bertling Air Freight Logistics recently conducted a special air freight transport with an Antonov AN-124 to Kazakhstan. The transport began early in the morning from Frankfurt-Hahn Airport in Germany and posed a unique challenge. Five fully loaded heavy-duty trucks, equipped with special permits for nighttime travel, transported a total of 20 tons of equipment for the oil and gas industry. The arrival of the Kazakh customer on-site and the preparations by Bertling’s air freight experts were crucial for the smooth operation.<\/p>\n

Comprehensive Planning and Execution<\/h3>\n

The cargo, consisting of dish heads up to 4.25 meters wide, baffles, and elliptical heads, was transported the evening before from Netphen, a town near Siegen, to Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. To ensure safety during transport, the cargo was accompanied by security and escort vehicles. Careful planning and coordination were necessary to meet the special requirements of the transport. Special measures for securing and lashing the cargo were required to ensure safety during the flight.<\/p>\n

Collaboration with Reliable Partners<\/h3>\n

The monitoring of the loading process was carried out in collaboration with the air freight partner Avico Group, which specializes in sensitive and complex air freight operations. Thanks to this cooperation, the AN-124 was loaded without delay and was ready for the flight to Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n

Throughout the five-hour flight to Aktau, Tom Kansmeyer, Heavy-Lift Engineer, was on board to oversee the cargo. This personal service is part of Bertling’s commitment to high customer service and is included in the company’s air freight offering.<\/p>\n

The transport proceeded as planned, and the arrival in Aktau was timely, allowing the cargo to be promptly unloaded and transported to the oil platform site.<\/p>\n
