The aircargo club deutschland (acd) held its annual general meeting at the Airport Club Frankfurt. During the New Year’s reception and the meeting, members came together to reflect on the past year, elect a new executive board, and discuss current challenges in the air freight industry.<\/p>\n

The current executive board was unanimously re-elected. Prof. Dr. Christopher W. Stoller (center) remains president, Ingo Richter (left) will continue to serve as vice president, and Laurent Jossa (right) retains the position of treasurer. The executive board thanked the members for their trust and broad support.<\/p>\n

Calls for Relief for the Industry<\/h3>\n

Alexander Klay, who is responsible for air freight issues at the Federal Association of the German Aviation Industry (BDL), was invited as a guest speaker. In his presentation, he reflected on the developments of the past year and addressed the central challenges of air traffic in 2026. Klay pointed out that the relief package announced by the federal government is insufficient from the industry’s perspective. While the proposed measures are a step in the right direction, they only cover part of the necessary scope. To keep Germany’s air traffic location competitive, a significantly higher level of relief is needed.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Christopher W. Stoller emphasized the relevance of the discussed topics for the club’s work. He called for clear political decisions in favor of Germany as a location and stressed that a functioning air freight system is essential for the world’s third-largest export-oriented economy. Stoller stated, „Politics must recognize the strategic value of air freight. The acd will continue to advocate for making these issues visible.“<\/p>\n

For the year 2026, the members of the acd have an ambitious program of expert presentations and panel discussions in prospect. A focus will be on air freight substitute services, with a panel event planned for June. Additionally, a trip abroad is planned, which will address the New Silk Road and include a visit to an infrastructure project in the Middle Corridor.<\/p>\n

The aircargo club deutschland was founded in 1963 and serves as an industry-related interest and discussion platform to promote air freight traffic. The approximately 200 members are senior representatives of the air freight industry with national or international responsibilities.<\/p>\n
