The Hannover-based Aerowest Group acquired the Kassel-based aviation company Businesswings Luftfahrtunternehmen GmbH from Sovereign Speed in January 2026. With this acquisition, the Aerowest Group expands its fleet to a total of 17 aircraft and obtains a second Air Operator Certificate (AOC).<\/p>\n

For decades, Businesswings has built a reputation for its cargo charter services and offers a comprehensive range of services. These include both on-demand charter flights and scheduled services that encompass tailored solutions such as door-to-door transport, customs clearance, and handling. These services are flexibly adaptable and aligned with the respective missions.<\/p>\n

The collaboration between Businesswings and Sovereign Speed will continue even after the acquisition. Businesswings has previously relied on the service portfolio of Sovereign Speed and will continue to do so to expand the services offered. Both companies, Aerowest and Businesswings, are among the most established aviation operators in Germany and share fundamental values such as operational precision, reliability, and customer-oriented solutions.<\/p>\n

The acquisition provides Aerowest with the opportunity to significantly diversify its service offerings. This includes, among other things, executive charters, air ambulance flights, and organ transplant flights, as well as comprehensive cargo charter solutions. Aerowest also positions itself as a specialist for short-notice operations, available around the clock. This includes, among other things, the transport of critical organs, support for AOG (Aircraft on Ground), logistics for spare parts, and short-notice business trips.<\/p>\n

With the integration of Businesswings, the Aerowest Group will grow to a total of 120 employees at the locations in Hannover and in the Businesswings offices in Kassel, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart. In addition to the 17 operated aircraft, Aerowest also has its own Part-145 MRO facility.<\/p>\n

As part of the transaction, Lars Best, Managing Director of the Aerowest Group, will take on the responsibility as Managing Director and responsible manager of Businesswings. J\u00f6rg Sickinger will serve as the operations-oriented Managing Director. This reorganization of responsibilities aims to secure and restore the trust of Businesswings‘ partners, on which the previous partnerships are based.<\/p>\n

The Aerowest Group and Sovereign Speed look forward to the future with optimism and aim for successful further development.<\/p>\n
