This measure is part of a multi-year initiative to modernize the crane infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The new cranes, which reach a height of 35 meters, are among the largest of their kind on the market, according to JAXPORT. They are designed to service wide ships and can reach up to 19 containers on the deck of a vessel. Additionally, they are capable of moving an average of 33 containers per hour and have a lifting capacity of up to 59 tons. For oversized, non-containerized cargo, they can even lift up to 75 tons.<\/p>\n<p>A third new crane, which also features a 50-gauge specification, arrived at JAXPORT in early December and is currently being commissioned at the Talleyrand Marine Terminal. This crane has a lifting height of 30 meters and can reach 17 containers simultaneously.
