Last Friday, the new BLG Inland Terminal in Ahlhorn was officially opened by the Minister of Economics of Lower Saxony.<\/strong> After the successful start of operations in the summer of this year, Lower Saxony’s Minister for Economics, Transport and Construction, Grant Hendrik Tonne, the Mayor of the municipality of Gro\u00dfenkneten, Thorsten Schmidtke, as well as the CEO of the BLG Group, Matthias Magnor, and COO Axel Krichel symbolically cut the red ribbon.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

(Bremen\/Ahlhorn) Since July 1, customer operations at the site have been running successfully. Currently, 22 employees are working together with a BLG project team on the further expansion of the terminal. By the end of 2026, a comprehensive inland terminal with storage capacities for up to 16,000 vehicles will be established on approximately 35 hectares in Ahlhorn. A temporary technical hall will be available in the first quarter of 2026 to expand the range of technical services. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 and will then include integrated logistics solutions as well as additional technical services.<\/p>\n

Benefit for the Region<\/h5>\n

Economics Minister Grant Hendrik Tonne emphasizes the importance of the new terminal: “The new inland terminal in Ahlhorn is a benefit for BLG, the Metropolitan Park Hansalinie, and the entire region. It strengthens logistics as a key pillar of our economic location and demonstrates how modern, sustainable infrastructure enables growth and creates new perspectives. Lower Saxony is a logistics state – with a central location, efficient infrastructure, and high competence. The forward-looking expansion of the site impressively underscores the significance of this industry for employment and economic strength in our country.”<\/p>\n

Strengthening the Automotive Segment<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The new terminal is a central component of BLG LOGISTICS’ growth strategy. By combining storage areas, technical services, and efficient logistics, an integrated location for vehicle logistics is being created in Ahlhorn. “The new terminal in Ahlhorn is much more than just additional space for us. We are specifically strengthening our offerings in the area of integrated logistics solutions and technical services that our customers are increasingly demanding,” emphasizes Matthias Magnor, CEO of BLG LOGISTICS.<\/p>\n

Sustainable Future and Regional Perspectives<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The location in the Metropolitan Park Hansalinie has been leased long-term. It utilizes new space potentials in the hinterland and offers a strategically strong location for national and international goods flows due to its proximity to the A1 and A29 highways. Sustainability plays a central role in the further expansion: modern heat pump technologies, the use of green electricity, and a photovoltaic system on the hall area are planned. Vehicles can already be transported in an environmentally friendly manner by rail, and the rail infrastructure will be further expanded in the future.<\/p>\n

Next Milestone in the Development of the Terminal<\/h5>\n

With the official inauguration, BLG LOGISTICS sets the next milestone in the development of the terminal. By the end of 2026, Ahlhorn will be fully developed and supplemented with additional services, areas, and infrastructure. This will not only create additional capacities for vehicle logistics but also new, attractive jobs in the region. Ahlhorn stands for growth with responsibility: a location that strengthens vehicle logistics, opens regional opportunities, and contributes to the sustainable mobility of tomorrow.<\/p>\n
