Out of a total of 1,715 traffic controls conducted, 1,451 were carried out to check for cabotage violations, with 139 violations identified.<\/h5>\n<p>(Heilbronn) The results of the inspection show that over 9% of the companies checked systematically violate existing cabotage rules, often these are foreign companies.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h5>Statement from the Federal Association of Logistics &amp; Transport (BLV-pro) e.V.:<\/h5>\n<p>The fact that only 1,715 inspections took place across the entire country is inadequate. Compared to the actual traffic volume in June of 493,000 foreign vehicles, this results in an alarmingly low inspection rate of only 0.29%. This indicates that 99.71% of the vehicles remain unchecked, which allows for numerous additional violations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The violations of the drivers&#8217; weekly rest periods are equally concerning: 78 violations in 437 inspections demonstrate that drivers still spend their weekly rest periods in their vehicles, which endangers both the safety of the drivers and overall traffic safety.<\/p>\n<p>It is evident that the political measures for monitoring and enforcing cabotage rules are insufficient. Honest German companies and drivers are facing increasing pressure, while unfair practices are favored by a lack of controls.<\/p>\n<p>Konstantin Popov, Chairman of BLV-pro e.V.: \u201cWe demand a more consistent and comprehensive monitoring that not only targets cabotage violations but also enforces the entire regulatory framework in international transport. Only through increased controls and strict penalties can fair competition within the transport market be ensured.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The average margin for medium-sized companies is 1-2% of revenue.
