Since the beginning of July 2025, Lufthansa Cargo has become the first airline to join the high-tech network Silicon Saxony \u2013 the largest association of companies in the microelectronics, semiconductor, and IT sectors in Europe. Based in Dresden, the association brings together over 600 players \u2013 from international technology corporations to innovative start-ups and research institutions. The regional focus is in the Dresden area, the most important location for semiconductor manufacturing in Europe.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

(Frankfurt) For Lufthansa Cargo, membership is a strategic step to contribute its expertise as one of the world’s leading cargo airlines and to deepen collaboration with key players in the semiconductor industry. As an essential part of global supply chains, Lufthansa Cargo helps ensure the reliable, sustainable flow of goods worldwide, adhering to the highest quality standards \u2013 especially for time-sensitive and sensitive high-tech goods. Active participation in working groups, industry events, and expert forums helps to better understand industry requirements and to specifically further develop specialized air freight solutions.<\/p>\n

Commitment to the Semiconductor Industry<\/strong><\/h5>\n

With its membership, Lufthansa Cargo is further expanding its commitment to the semiconductor industry. Already today, the air freight airline differentiates its transport services according to specific requirements \u2013 from highly sensitive wafers to temperature-controlled microchips and heavy, valuable production equipment. Membership in the network is intended to help tailor Lufthansa Cargo’s air freight solutions even more closely to the needs of the industry.<\/p>\n
