(Bremen\/Dresden) In the northern part of Dresden, a new hall complex specifically for the semiconductor industry has been built in the last nine months. The operator, the international transport and logistics company DSV, is expanding its existing facilities by an additional 4,000 m\u00b2 with the new logistics center, thereby strengthening its presence in the region. On March 31, DSV Air & Sea Germany Managing Director Torge Koehnke, Sea Freight Manager Marcus Musiol, and Site Manager Kai Schw\u00e4rig jointly inaugurated the new logistics hall at the Dresden DSV location in a festive setting.<\/p>\n
“We are pleased to create added value for our customers and the region with the realization of this construction project. Dresden is the center of the semiconductor industry in Germany, and due to its proximity to production sites, we can ensure fast response and delivery times,” explains Kai Schw\u00e4rig.<\/p>\n
Torge Koehnke sees great potential in the region: “Dresden plays an important role for DSV, as the chip sector is a future-oriented industry. With professional, tailored logistics solutions, we want to meet the local demand and invest accordingly in the region.” Kai Schw\u00e4rig adds: “With this state-of-the-art facility, we create sufficient space for new business and can optimally respond to the requirements of the semiconductor industry.”<\/p>\n
The new logistics center offers a climate-controlled, video-monitored environment with shelving for both large and small parts. It includes a block storage area and meets the safety and quality standards of the semiconductor industry. This allows companies to ensure that their valuable components and products are stored and transported under optimal conditions. The facility is also up to date in terms of sustainability: In the future, electric trucks will be able to use charging stations on-site, and a photovoltaic system on the building’s roof will support the power supply.<\/p>\n
