(Ismaning\/Cuneo) The Lannutti Group, headquartered in Italy, operates a fleet of over 2,500 trucks in 24\/7 operation across eight European countries. As part of a fleet renewal program, Lannutti has signed an order for 1,500 Volvo FH Aero trucks. All trucks are equipped with Volvo’s new Camera Monitor System (CMS), which replaces traditional mirrors and improves aerodynamics and safety.<\/p>\n
“The principle of fleet renewal at Lannutti Group is to focus on low-emission vehicles while providing our drivers with a high level of comfort and safety to better protect both the drivers themselves and all other road users. In addition to the fuel-saving I-Save technology, which is already 100% implemented in our fleet, we now want to take advantage of the new CMS and the improved aerodynamic design. This partnership with Volvo will enable us to continue our journey towards zero emissions,” says Valter Lannutti, CEO of Lannutti Group. Most of the trucks ordered by Lannutti will be powered by HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), a fuel that can be made from waste products and reduces CO2<\/sub> emissions by up to 90 percent.<\/p>\n “This contract makes me very proud, as it demonstrates the trust and commitment that Lannutti has as a long-standing business partner of Volvo Trucks,” says Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. It not only helps our customers reduce fuel costs and CO2<\/sub> emissions but is also one of the safest truck models that drivers can operate.” <\/p>\n The development of the new Volvo FH Aero focused on fuel efficiency and safety. The newly designed aerodynamic cab is up to five percent more economical than its predecessor. Furthermore, Volvo Trucks’ new CMS not only contributes to fuel savings due to its aerodynamic design but also enhances road safety through improved direct visibility for drivers. This holds true even in darkness and rain.<\/p>\n The fuel savings achieved by the new Volvo FH Aero complement the efficiency improvements made in recent years to the powertrain of the Volvo FH, including the I-Save powertrain technology. The fuel savings from the Volvo FH series as well as from the new Volvo FH Aero lead to a significant reduction in CO2<\/sub> emissions and operating costs.<\/p>\n The Volvo FH Aero also features a variety of new interior features that enhance the working environment for drivers, as well as connected services that provide fleet operators with a complete overview of the truck and trailer. The 1,500 new Volvo trucks will be delivered to the Lannutti Group in 2024 and 2025. This month, the logistics company Hubert Winnen GmbH & Co KG will receive the first trucks for the German market from the order.<\/p>\n Companies from various sectors are taking advantage of the benefits of the new Volvo trucks. In addition to the waste management company (AWB) Ahrweiler, the logistics company THT Heimann is among the first German companies to receive the Volvo Aero.<\/p>\n While THT Heimann relies on the fuel efficiency of the new trucks, AWB Ahrweiler uses the new trucks in the fully electric version for municipal transport: “At AWB Ahrweiler, we place great importance on reliable and safe vehicles due to our mandate. The modern assistance systems not only support the drivers but also protect other road users, which is particularly important in urban environments. The Volvo FH Aero is innovative and state-of-the-art with its technology. As electric vehicles, they are also pleasantly quiet, efficient, and above all, environmentally friendly when operating on the streets.
