(Leinfelden-Echterdingen\/Gaggenau) The family-owned logistics company Logistik Schmitt, based in Bietigheim, Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, will initially use the electric truck for transporting engines between its logistics location in Germersheim and the Mercedes-Benz plant in W\u00f6rth, located 25 km away, in multi-shift operations. Later, the engine plant in Mannheim is also expected to be included in the route. In the first step, the logistics provider will incorporate a total of six eActros 300 tractor units into its fleet. The first vehicle of the small series of the eActros 300 as a tractor unit was already handed over to the Dutch food logistics company Simon Loos in June 2023. The official series launch of this variant of the eActros 300 is scheduled for the end of the year.<\/p>\n

From the first prototype to the electric articulated truck \u2013 Logistik Schmitt has accompanied the development steps of the electric truck with intensive testing. We are therefore even more pleased that the company is now firmly incorporating the eActros into its fleet.”<\/p>\n
Rainer Schmitt: “The eActros for distribution traffic has proven its capabilities in our operations over the past years. The overall concept from Mercedes-Benz Trucks, along with e-specific consulting, was decisive for our decision to also acquire the variant as a tractor unit.” <\/p>\n
Crucial for the successful operation of electric vehicles is also the availability of charging options. The logistics company has already begun early on to establish suitable charging infrastructure at its locations. Corresponding charging stations are also available at the unloading points in the W\u00f6rth plant.<\/p>\n
