The Hamburg port remains a key destination for the Megamax class on the routes of shipping companies. On Saturday, July 15, the “ONE Innovation,” the first 24,000-TEU ship of the shipping company ONE, docked in Hamburg. With a length of 400 m and a width of 61.40 m, it has a capacity of 24,136 TEU. This makes it one of the largest container ships in the world today.<\/h5>\n

(Hamburg) “The decision of the shipping company to call at Hamburg with its most modern ship shows that we have done our homework. The terminal operators have state-of-the-art container cranes to efficiently load and unload a ship of this size. Furthermore, to make the ships’ layover more environmentally friendly, shore power facilities are currently being installed at the container terminals in Hamburg,” says Axel Mattern, board member of Hafen Hamburg Marketing.<\/p>\n

The “ONE Innovation” itself also contributes to a better environmental balance. Through its modern design, which aims to maximize cargo intake and minimize fuel consumption, it significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions. The ship is equipped with a bow wind protection, an energy-saving device, and an exhaust cleaning system to meet the IMO emission regulations. It is the first of six new Megamax ships that will complement ONE’s core fleet.<\/p>\n

Operating on the Asia-Europe Service<\/h5>\n

“With the ‘ONE Innovation’, our most modern container ship comes to Hamburg. With the new series, we want to pave the way for sustainable development in global logistics. Our ‘Green Vision’ aims to achieve a net-zero balance by 2050. This particularly helps urban ports like Hamburg,” says Jan Holst, Managing Director Germany at ONE. The ship will be deployed in the Asia-Europe service (FE3 liner service) of the shipping alliance THE Alliance (THEA). This means it will be a regular guest at the Hamburg port.<\/p>\n
