(Berlin) An analysis conducted by M3E using its in-house Europe-wide funding database specifically for Power2Drive has revealed that combined funding programs generally yield higher funding amounts for the procurement of charging infrastructure (LIS) than corresponding programs solely focused on LIS. This is particularly true for the large markets \u2013 Spain, France, Germany \u2013 where such combined programs exist for both passenger cars and trucks, along with their respective LIS, but also for smaller markets like Austria. In particular, companies should, as recommended by M3E funding experts, wait for the funding calls for the combined measures and align their fleet decarbonization accordingly.<\/p>\n
“With our Europe-wide funding database, we have developed an incredibly versatile tool. On one hand, it is perfectly tailored to the needs of OEMs and their dealers to fully capture the European funding landscape for their customers,” says Daniel Yanev, Team Lead Consulting and responsible for the database at M3E.<\/p>\n
“On the other hand, we also advise (large) customers ourselves and find the optimal funding for their (large) projects.” The database captures all funding programs and incentives in the 31 included countries and makes the approximately 10 billion euros in state funding for electric mobility provided annually in Europe conveniently searchable. Funding programs for LIS are also included, of which many exist for every application case in most European countries: Companies, municipalities, associations, and private individuals can receive funding for both public and private charging stations or wall boxes, as well as their installation, often including the grid connection, civil engineering, and charging management \u2013 with corresponding programs at national and regional levels.<\/p>\n
Since 2021, combined funding programs have existed in some countries that promote combined measures \u2013 that is, the procurement of electric vehicles in combination with LIS. “Our research now clearly shows that these combined programs are much more lucrative for companies than the separate programs,” Yanev further informs. “In relation to Germany, we therefore recommend our (large) customers in numerous consultations on fleet electrification to possibly postpone the establishment of charging infrastructure until the next funding call for combined measures.”<\/p>\n
With the third edition of the KsNI program, the funding guideline “Climate-Friendly Commercial Vehicles and Charging Infrastructure” from the BMDV, such a call for trucks and LIS is expected at the end of 2023. “We have already gained some experience with KsNI and can demonstrate a success rate of 97% for our customers in the application process,” Yanev explains and concludes: “So please contact us, we are happy to assist you with our database in combination with our consulting and application service for your E-projects.”<\/p>\n
