The initiative “The Economic Makers” aims to demonstrate that logistics can also score points in these areas with numerous actions this year. The increased relevance of the initiative and its concerns is underscored by the patronage of Oliver Luksic, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport and Coordinator of the Federal Government for Freight Transport and Logistics.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

(Bremen) “Your future in logistics. Makes sense,” is the motto of this year’s activities of the Economic Makers. Various social media campaigns are planned, ranging from ads and banner motifs to podcasts and video statements, which will be published starting at the end of the first quarter. People from different areas of logistics will explain why their job has a future and provide insights into the working world of logistics. The podcast “Logistics Heroes,” which started in January, targets a young audience of career starters. For the kickoff episode, three logistics heroes, Patricia Geiter (VTL), Larissa Eger (neocargo), and Phillip Ahrend (Tchibo), will share their personal motivations and opportunities for further education in a start-up, a medium-sized company, and a corporation. The ad motifs playfully address logistical tasks and functions as well as the future of logistics. “This year, we are focusing even more on highlighting authentic people from the participating companies in our communication, as they are the best ambassadors for this exciting economic sector,” explains Economic Makers spokesperson Frauke Heistermann. “With great stories and strong arguments, we want to attract young talent to our economic sector and convince them of the advantages of a job in logistics.” In addition, cooperation with the education sector is a focus for the Economic Makers this year. New participants from this area include Hannover University of Applied Sciences and CBS International Business School.<\/p>\n

Parliamentary State Secretary Oliver Luksic Serves as Patron<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The new patron of the initiative, Oliver Luksic, is also helping to increase visibility for the Economic Makers and logistics. With years of experience in transport policy offices, the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) is also the Coordinator of the Federal Government for Freight Transport and Logistics. “Logistics is the foundation of our daily lives, for prosperity, and for many jobs in Germany. Without our logistics heroes, supermarket shelves would be empty, and production in our companies would come to a standstill,” explains Oliver Luksic. “To inspire enough people for careers in the logistics industry in the future, we must communicate their importance, as well as the diverse activities and career opportunities they offer, even better and clearer. That is exactly what the Economic Makers are working on, and that is why I am happy to take on the patronage for the initiative as the Coordinator of the Federal Government for Freight Transport and Logistics.”<\/p>\n

Present at Various Events<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The Economic Makers will showcase their presence at numerous events in the first half of the year, starting with the Trade Logistics Congress from March 29 to 30, followed by the HR fair Zukunft Personal Nord from April 18 to 19, the Day of Logistics on April 20, LogiMAT from April 25 to 27, the “transport logistic” from May 9 to 12, 2023, and the Hamburg Logistics Days on May 24 and 25. On June 15, the second edition of the B\u00c4M!-Camp at the House of Logistics and Mobility in Frankfurt am Main will continue the successful format from the previous year, bringing together marketing and HR professionals from logistics. “This time, we will primarily discuss how companies can not only find employees but also better retain them by creating attractive conditions even where, for example, remote working, which is particularly sought after by Generation Z, has not been possible due to the nature of the work,” says Frauke Heistermann.<\/p>\n
