The REWE Group aims to be climate-neutral at the corporate level by 2040. <\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Cambria',serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<div class=\"entry-content\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(Cologne) At the end of January, the new hydrogen fuel cell truck Hyundai Xcient Fuel Cell will roll out for the first time from the premises of the REWE Region West logistics center in Cologne-Langel. This marks the company&#8217;s next step towards low-emission freight transport. According to the company&#8217;s estimates, the new truck alone can save approximately 58,000 kg of CO2 per year compared to a conventional diesel truck. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">The vehicle has a permissible total weight of 27 tons, 18 Euro pallet spaces, and a range of about 400 km. With the associated cooling unit, it can be used like a conventional truck and deliver temperature-sensitive or frozen products. The H2 truck is fueled with green-produced hydrogen, making it 100 percent emission-free. The consumption <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is about 8 kg of hydrogen per 100 km, with refueling taking place at nearby H2 stations.
