Port of Hamburg Marketing e.V. (HHM) has released a new Port of Hamburg App, equipped with numerous features. It now offers comprehensive information for everyone \u2013 whether transport and logistics experts or tourists interested in the port and ships.<\/h5>\n

(Hamburg) A highlight is the ‘Port Live’ feature. It shows what is located in the user’s port surroundings. For example, if the smartphone is pointed towards a ship, it is identified, and the feature displays the name in a so-called augmented reality. By clicking, users can access further ship information and photos. The terminals and companies based in the port are also displayed via ‘Port Live’.<\/p>\n

This feature is just one of eight in the new Port of Hamburg App. From small barges to mega container carriers \u2013 over 20,000 ships are stored in the ship database with images and detailed information. They can be filtered by length, width, or carrying capacity, among other criteria. The app also shows the expected ships for the next 48 hours. The list of cruise ships even includes the arrivals for the entire current year. A virtual journey through the port is made possible by the ‘Port Plan’, which displays all terminals and the ships currently in the port.<\/p>\n

Overview of Scheduled Services by Water and Rail<\/h5>\n

The new app also provides a comprehensive overview of scheduled services by water and rail. The ‘Scheduled Services’ database includes all ship connections between Hamburg and around 1,000 ports worldwide that are regularly served. The intermodal database, on the other hand, contains an overview of regular train connections between Hamburg and German, European, and Chinese destinations. Additionally, regular inland shipping traffic via Hamburg is listed here.<\/p>\n

Anyone interested in the latest news about the Port of Hamburg and the maritime economy will also find what they are looking for in the new app. It also offers a comprehensive media library with many videos and informational materials. To ensure that port fans do not miss anything in the future, push notifications can be set for various areas.<\/p>\n
