The minister accepted an invitation from the LHG and the shipping company TT-Line. L\u00fcbeck&#8217;s mayor Jan Lindenau, LHG CEO Sebastian J\u00fcrgens, and shipping company managing director Bernhard Term\u00fchlen warmly welcomed him at the port house.<\/h5>\n<p>(L\u00fcbeck Madsen gained a comprehensive insight into the development opportunities of the LHG facilities during his introductory visit. A focus of the discussions was on the prospects for further developing the HUB function of the L\u00fcbeck port in the Baltic Sea region, the recent investments by TT-Line in new ship capacities at the L\u00fcbeck Scandinavia quay, as well as the opportunities and challenges regarding the Fehmarnbelt fixed link. The head of the L\u00fcbeck Port Authority, Guido Kaschel, informed about infrastructural issues, while the honorary consul for Finland in L\u00fcbeck, Bernd Jorkisch, highlighted the diverse maritime trade relations with Finland.<\/p>\n<p>Sebastian J\u00fcrgens summarizes: &#8220;We are pleased that Minister Madsen is showing interest in the L\u00fcbeck port so early in his term and is thus providing more than just a business card.&#8221; Bernhard Term\u00fchlen adds: &#8220;TT-Line&#8217;s three-digit million investment in ferry traffic via L\u00fcbeck is a clear commitment to the ferry port Scandinavia quay.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h5>Full Support for Development Perspectives<\/h5>\n<p>Claus Ruhe Madsen offered the continued full support of the state government regarding the development perspectives of the port: &#8220;We are aware that L\u00fcbeck, with its LHG, its shipping companies, freight forwarders, and other associated businesses, is the largest freight gateway to the Baltic Sea region for Schleswig-Holstein.
