Driving personnel are still often denied access to sanitary facilities. In the context of the acute driver shortage, such circumstances do not contribute positively to the image of the profession.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>(Berlin) At many loading ramps, the situation for truck drivers is still unsatisfactory. Although the joint efforts and best practice examples with trade, industry, and politics have shown some effect, particularly in the planning of new logistics buildings, driving personnel are still frequently denied access to sanitary facilities as well as to operational break and rest areas in daily practice. This is simply unacceptable and inhumane, especially during long waiting times for processing.<\/p>\n<p>The BGL therefore demands a binding assurance of access to sanitary and social rooms for all truck drivers at the loading and unloading points of goods recipients and shippers.
