In motion for a century and a half: DB Schenker celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2022. Under the motto “150 Years Elevating Lives,” a competition for all employees has been taking place since the beginning of the year. Worldwide, they and their families and friends can count their steps and numerous sports and mental activities.<\/p>\n

(Essen) More than 70 million kilometers have already been collected through a specially designed smartphone app for the campaign. As an anniversary gift, all registered employees will receive exclusive adidas sneakers in the brand colors of DB Schenker.<\/p>\n

Jochen Thewes, CEO of DB Schenker, is participating in the internal competition himself and motivates all employees to compete with him in various disciplines. He says: “We are currently powering for the largest fitness campaign our company has ever had. I am very proud of our entire team. Together, we have already run around the globe more than 1,750 times since January. With a special anniversary shoe in Schenker design, every colleague receives an additional incentive to collect even more valuable steps.”<\/p>\n

Limited Shoe Edition<\/strong><\/h5>\n

For the anniversary campaign, a sneaker from the adidas Supernova collection was selected last year and designed together with the adidas team for DB Schenker. The limited shoe edition is in the brand colors of the logistics company, features the logo on the shoe tongue, and is mostly made from recycled materials.<\/p>\n

For all achievements collected with the app in 2022, DB Schenker donates to selected non-profit organizations that align with DB Schenker’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In the first quarter, a donation was made to the environmental organization WeForest<\/a>, which supports tree planting and other local and social sustainability projects in Brazil and Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

For the second quarter, the collected funds will go to Ocean Conservancy<\/a> to drive science-based solutions for healthier oceans. The climate protection organization atmosfair<\/a> is the partner for the ongoing third quarter. The donation purpose for the fourth quarter of the year will be announced soon.<\/p>\n
