How resource-efficient are your warehouse, terminal, or distribution center? The Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML is once again conducting a market study this year to determine the energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emission intensity of logistics locations.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

(Dortmund) Companies participating in the market study will receive their own annual CO2<\/sub> footprint and emission intensity values, in addition to the overall results. A comparison within self-selected location clusters is also possible. For this year’s edition of the market study, a new online questionnaire has been developed, making participation even easier. Data collection began in August and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2022.<\/p>\n

Free participation in the study is possible via the following link: https:\/\/reff.iml.fraunhofer.de<\/a>. The market study was first conducted in 2015 and continued in 2021 as part of the research project GILA (“German, Italian & Latin American consortium for resource efficient logistics hubs & transport”). The project examines logistics locations such as warehouses or terminals worldwide and aims to improve their energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emission intensity.<\/p>\n

New Tool for Monitoring Greenhouse Gas Emissions<\/strong><\/h5>\n

To assess resource consumption and emission efficiency, researchers developed the “REff Tool\u00ae<\/sup>” (Resource Efficiency at Logistics Sites). The tool is now available in an updated version and provides even more transparency regarding the monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions at logistics locations.<\/p>\n
