DHL Freight is further expanding its transport network with the new location in Villingen-Schwenningen in southwestern Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. To respond to the increasing demand, DHL Freight will provide hall and office spaces of approximately 5,780 m2<\/sup> there, to support international and national customers with customized logistics solutions and transport management in road transport.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

(Bonn\/Villingen-Schwenningen) As part of the sustainability roadmap, DHL Freight, as part of Deutsche Post DHL Group, has committed to making all new buildings CO2<\/sub>-neutral. Therefore, the new location meets the latest construction and environmental standards. The building will be climate-controlled using an electric heat pump. Additionally, the required electricity for operation will be completely generated from renewable energies. The completion of the new DHL Freight terminal is planned for September 2022. The ceremonial groundbreaking was attended by J\u00fcrgen Roth, Mayor of Villingen-Schwenningen, Dr. Thomas Vogel, CEO DHL Freight DACH, Gunter Bosch, Area Manager South, DHL Freight, and Thomas Hilzinger, Branch Manager Schwarzwald, DHL Freight.<\/p>\n

Expansion of the Transport Network is Important<\/strong><\/h5>\n

“It is important that we consistently expand our transport network in Germany,” said Dr. Thomas Vogel, CEO DHL Freight DACH. “The continuous modernization and expansion of handling and transport capacities is a crucial factor in providing our customers with efficient logistics solutions with the highest service quality. With our new branch in Villingen-Schwenningen, we strengthen our presence in southern Germany, allowing us to optimally serve the area from Lake Constance to Albstadt or Balingen in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in the future.”<\/p>\n

As another hub in the DHL Freight network, the terminal in Villingen-Schwenningen will primarily serve customers in the automotive supply, medical technology, and mechanical engineering sectors. With a total of 26 loading gates, around 800 incoming and outgoing shipments from national and international traffic are expected to be processed daily.<\/p>\n

Providing High Quality<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The expansion and development of the dense network is an integral part of DHL Freight’s corporate strategy to continue providing reliable, fast, and high-quality transport and logistics solutions for customers. The network expansion of smaller locations aims to offer customers better access to national and international transport routes at the regional level.<\/p>\n
