The Logistics Initiative Hamburg (LIHH) and Port of Hamburg Marketing (HHM) were officially welcomed into the Scandria\u00aeAlliance at the general assembly on November 2, 2021, and received their membership certificates in Berlin. The common vision of the alliance is to create a sustainable and multimodal transport system from Scandinavia to the Adriatic by 2030.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

(Hamburg) The LIHH and HHM will actively contribute their (maritime) logistics and supply chain experience as well as their member networks. The goal is to establish and strengthen sustainable transport corridors and to complement the perspectives of the Scandria\u00aeAlliance with experiences in freight logistics.<\/p>\n

“As an innovation cluster and network organization with more than 500 members, we know that cooperation is key to addressing common future challenges, especially regarding climate change and digital transformation. For this, we want to bring the broad knowledge and innovation potential of our network members into the Scandria\u00aeAlliance,” says Carmen Schmidt, Managing Director of Logistics Initiative Hamburg Management GmbH, adding: “We are confident that collaboration with strong partners in the international alliance will promote the exchange of experiences and possibly even joint projects. The focus will be on the areas of digitalization and decarbonization of rail, road, and water transport, as well as solutions for the last mile. We are pleased that Hamburg, as an important transport and logistics hub in Europe, will be represented in the Scandria\u00aeAlliance through HHM and LIHH in the future.”<\/p>\n

Axel Mattern, board member at HHM, also sees a clear added value in the membership. “The Port of Hamburg is a European logistics hotspot. We rely on functioning, efficient, and future-proof green supply chains. Here, cooperation and strong networks are needed to tackle challenges such as the use of alternative fuels together. The Scandria\u00aeAlliance is an excellent tool for this, which we are happy to strengthen,” says Mattern.<\/p>\n

Connection Scandinavia – Central Europe<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The Scandinavian and Central European regions are characterized by a long history of exchange in trade and commerce, the development of transport infrastructures and transport services, as well as regional development. For more than ten years, the Scandria\u00aeCorridor regions have been working together. In March 2019, leading politicians from the six founding member regions (Region \u00d6rebro County, Region Sk\u00e5ne, Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council, Eastern Norway County Network, City of Turku, Capital Region Berlin-Brandenburg) signed the “Interregional Agreement for the Establishment of the Scandria\u00aeAlliance for Territorial Cooperation along the Scandria\u00aeCorridor.”<\/p>\n
