The construction of a new production and logistics hall has now been officially handed over to the responsible parties at B\u00fcrstner. This is accompanied by the implementation of a new organizational structure, a state-of-the-art logistics concept, and further standardization. The goal is to increase productivity while simultaneously enhancing production capacities.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

(Kehl) One of the largest individual investments in recent times was ceremoniously handed over to the plant management at the B\u00fcrstner site in the Kehler Hafen. The centerpiece is the new production and logistics hall, where small and medium-sized motorhomes are manufactured.<\/p>\n

The new assembly line is housed in a combination of newly constructed halls and renovated existing buildings. Two production lines have been merged within them. Prefabrication now takes place directly before the assembly line, resulting in shorter distances in production. Furthermore, a new logistics concept has been implemented: the supply of the lines occurs Just-in-Sequence \u2013 that is, according to the batch size of a series. This saves space, distance, and time.<\/p>\n

High Demand Made Expansion Necessary<\/strong><\/h5>\n

“Since August 30, the ramp-up curve of the assembly line has been running. Employees are being gradually introduced to the new tasks and work contents,” says Iskender Coskun, plant manager at B\u00fcrstner. The modernization and expansion of production were necessary to meet the very high demand for B\u00fcrstner motorhomes and campervans in the future.”<\/p>\n

The next steps are already programmed: In January 2022, the in-house sewing shop will be restructured and placed closer to the assembly line. By April 2022, a new carpentry workshop will be established at the Kehl site and integrated into the production flow. This ensures high furniture quality and flexible production. At the same time, capacities for compact campervans at the B\u00fcrstner plant in Wissembourg, France, will also be increased.<\/p>\n
