After 30 years of service to his company, Volker Seefeldt is stepping down as CEO of HTAG H\u00e4fen und Transport AG effective September 30, 2021, and is leaving active service. The 64-year-old made this decision in close coordination with the supervisory board of HTAG. Andreas Grzib has been appointed as another board member of HTAG.<\/p>\n
(Cologne) “With the planned spin-off of the shipping sector of HTAG at the end of the year and the subsequent transition of the company into a new ownership structure in the HGK Logistics and Intermodal business area, both the direction of the company and the nature of the management task will change significantly. For me, it is the perfect time to pass the baton to the next generation after 47 years of a successful professional life,” explains Volker Seefeldt his decision.<\/span><\/p>\n The experienced manager looks back on a long career in inland shipping, transport, and logistics. Volker Seefeldt began his professional career in 1974 with an apprenticeship at Stinnes Reederei AG in Duisburg, where he remained until 1991. From there, the business economist (VWA) moved to HTAG, formerly Harpen Transport AG, where he held various positions. For the last 21 years, he has been at the top of the company, initially as a board member and since 2011 as the spokesperson for the HTAG board. Between 2015 and 2019, Volker Seefeldt also led the HGK subsidiary neska as chairman of the management board.<\/span><\/p>\n Volker Seefeldt is also involved in several industry associations. Since 2003, he has been a board member and until May 2013 president of the “Employers’ Association of German Inland Shipping e.V.” (AdB). He has been a member of the board of the “Federal Association of German Inland Shipping e.V.” (BDB) since 2008. Since the merger of the BDB with the AdB in 2013, Volker Seefeldt has served as vice president of the BDB. He has held the position of vice president in the “Association for European Inland Navigation and Waterways e.V.” since 2015. “With Volker Seefeldt, a defining personality is leaving the HGK group, who has achieved a lot in his company.<\/span><\/p>\n Thanks to his expertise, HTAG has established itself as one of the major players in bulk logistics,” explains Uwe Wedig, chairman of the board of H\u00e4fen und G\u00fcterverkehr K\u00f6ln AG. “HGK AG is extremely grateful to Mr. Seefeldt for his contributions and wishes him all the best for his future,” Uwe Wedig continues.<\/span><\/p>\n Effective September 3, 2021, the supervisory board of HTAG appointed Andreas Grzib as another board member of HTAG.
