(Bonn) DHL Global Forwarding enables its customers to fully decarbonize their sea transports through the use of sustainable marine fuels for LCL (Less than Container Load) as well as FCL (Full Container Load) shipments. As one of the first major customers in Germany, Kaufland uses the GoGreen Plus service for all FCL transports, thus reducing its CO2<\/sub> emissions by around 12,000 tons of CO2<\/sub>e TtW annually.<\/p>\n “Our service for the use of sustainable marine fuels is very well received by our customers,” says Felix Heger, Head of Ocean Freight and China Rail, DHL Global Forwarding Germany. “The demand for green transport solutions is steadily increasing as companies become more aware of their ecological responsibilities and take action. We are pleased with Kaufland’s decision; it takes reputable and strong partners to move forward together and show that sustainability and profitability are not mutually exclusive.”<\/p>\n DHL Global Forwarding has been working with Kaufland for over twelve years and is responsible for the overseas transport of non-food goods. Kaufland has set itself the goal of reducing its operational greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent in the same period. Various measures to reduce, avoid, or compensate for CO2<\/sub> emissions in operations and the supply chain are aimed at achieving these goals.<\/p>\n The sustainable marine fuel is an important lever for DHL Global Forwarding to reduce the environmental impact of sea freight transport. The company ensures that the waste-based biofuels meet strict sustainability standards and are among the cleanest biofuels on the market.<\/p>\n In line with its principle of “Burn Less – Burn Clean,” DHL Global Forwarding continuously optimizes the CO2<\/sub> efficiency of its transport network, fleet, and properties. To achieve its sustainability goals, Deutsche Post DHL Group plans to invest 7 billion euros in climate-neutral logistics solutions by 2030.
