The international logistics group AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG has summarized the results of the first half of 2021. Revenue amounted to 207.8 million euros, which is 25% higher than the result for the same period last year. Compared to the period in 2020, the gross profit of the group increased by 8%. The strongest sector is road transport.<\/p>\n

(Magdeburg) The number of international transports grew by 17%. From January to June 2021, the specialists of the group processed 96.5 thousand orders. The total weight of goods delivered during this period amounted to over 2 million tons, representing an increase of 4.5% compared to the first half of 2020. The company is also strengthening its market position in project logistics. The business areas of AsstrA Industrial Project Logistics conducted twice as many projects compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n

In the first two quarters of 2021, 1,733 new companies were added to AsstrA’s customer portfolio. Increases in new customers were recorded in machinery and plant engineering (+81%), the chemical industry (+58%), and the food industry (+53%). The leaders in the number of orders were representatives of the food industry with 19%, the fashion segment with 14%, and the chemical sector with 12%.<\/p>\n

88 Percent of Orders in Road Transport<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Road transport remained the most popular area among customers of AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG. 84,000 orders were completed, an increase of 23,000 orders compared to the first half of 2020. The share of road transport in the total number of transports of the group was 88%. 5,000 shipments were handled by sea, 3,700 by rail. The number of air transports amounted to 2,600.<\/p>\n

In sea transport, there was growth in deliveries to the USA, from the USA to the UK, and from Germany to Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2021, the AsstrA team is focusing on increasing the quality level in the road transport service despite the market deficit of vehicles. Additionally, the team is focused on the impeccable fulfillment of obligations in maritime transport. All possible options are being developed to find available slots on sea lines. To further develop our own activities in ports and establish close cooperation with lines, offices will soon be opened in Valencia and Hamburg,\u201d says Dmitry Lagun, CEO of the AsstrA Group.<\/p>\n

Not to Be the Cheapest Option<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Lagun continued: \u201cIn the highly complex field of project logistics, we are also rapidly evolving. Our goal is to win business not because we are the cheapest option, but due to the most comprehensive solutions that the experts develop. The container crisis, the shortage of road vehicles, and the spread of the pandemic have forced us to look for new solutions to optimize logistics. Therefore, the goal is to be a ‘digital freight forwarder’ to ensure transparency at every stage of the logistics chain.\u201d<\/p>\n
