The freight forwarders have embraced the system well.<\/p>\n<p>(Freiburg i. Br.\/Gersthofen) The commercial vehicle manufacturer Humbaur, one of the world&#8217;s largest manufacturers of trailers and vehicle superstructures, has introduced the time slot management system SLOT from Cargoclix at its headquarters in Gersthofen near Augsburg. The cloud-based solution from the Freiburg-based system house has been supporting the congestion-free processing of around 28 trucks daily at the goods dispatch for several weeks now. &#8220;The system has been well received by almost all freight forwarders,&#8221; reports Haiko Huber, team leader of shipping dispatch at Humbaur GmbH. &#8220;The solution has enabled us to ensure a better distribution of trucks at our five loading bays &#8211; especially when many of them arrive for loading,&#8221; he continues.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Almost No Waiting Times for Drivers<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>There is no fixed date when the booking period for time slots begins. Humbaur also allows short-term bookings for its logistics service providers, as long as they are made by 3 PM the day before. This lead time gives the company the opportunity to plan the following day as accurately as possible and to allocate staff accordingly. A fee of 50 cents is charged for booking a time slot. This cost is borne by the freight forwarders, who benefit from quick and timely processing in return.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that truck drivers will hardly have to wait in the future has already been demonstrated in the first weeks of using SLOT. &#8220;The waiting times for drivers have been drastically reduced,&#8221; Huber points out. In his view, the advantages of the system lie not only in the possibility of better temporal distribution of trucks but also in its graphical clarity. &#8220;This way, we can see exactly which truck arrives when and which vehicles are currently in the loading process,&#8221; he explains.<\/p>\n<p>The software &#8220;Cargoclix SLOT&#8221; for optimizing processes is modularly structured and can be individually adapted to the needs of each company. Currently, the system has around 65,000 users in Germany and Europe.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>About Humbaur<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Humbaur is one of the world&#8217;s largest manufacturers of trailers and vehicle superstructures. The family-owned company offers around 420 different trailer series models for commercial and private customers and 230 models of its so-called &#8220;FlexBox&#8221; box superstructures. 600 employees produce around 60,000 trailers per year. Humbaur operates nationally and internationally as an expert in trailers and transport solutions between 750 kilograms and 55 tons total weight and also manufactures special and custom solutions.
