The annual statistical report<\/p>\n

(Berlin) The report contains evaluations based on official statistics for the reporting year 2019. It examines both rail and waterway Combined Transport as well as total freight transport. Furthermore, the report provides references to forecasts regarding the volume and performance development for total freight transport as well as for rail-based CT. In cooperation with UIC and UIRR, the report also includes a section on the development of CT in Europe.<\/p>\n

Three interesting facts in advance: <\/strong><\/h5>\n

1) The CT transport volume in 2019 remained at a share of 2.4% of total freight transport, with a share of 7.6% in transport performance.<\/p>\n

2) Considering the forecast for transport performance in total freight transport (2019-2023), the share of rail increases by 2.7%, while CT increases significantly disproportionately by 12.1%.<\/p>\n

3) Between 2008 and 2018, transport performance in CT in Europe increased by 56.6%, with the share of European total freight transport being similar to that in Germany at 7.5%.<\/p>\n

The Study Society for Combined Transport e.V. (SGKV) is a non-profit association aimed at researching and promoting Combined Transport as an efficient mode of transport in Germany and Europe.
