Abena, the Danish manufacturer of health and medical products, relies on the energy-efficient conveyor technology from TGW for the transport of cartons, trays, and polybags in the expansion of its logistics center. The expansion serves as a basis for future growth. A maintenance and spare parts package ensures maximum availability.<\/p>\n

(Marchtrenk\/Aabenraa) Abena is leveraging TGW’s expertise in the expansion of its logistics center. An energy-efficient conveyor system for cartons, trays, and soft packaging (polybags) is being developed at the manufacturer’s headquarters in southern Denmark, set to be completed by summer 2021.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1953 in Aabenraa, Abena is now one of the leading manufacturers of health and medical supplies. The family-owned company operates production sites in Denmark, Sweden, and France, supplying hospitals, nursing homes, and end customers in over 80 countries.<\/p>\n

Customized Concept<\/strong><\/h5>\n

To lay the foundation for future growth, Abena is expanding its existing distribution center with an energy-efficient conveyor technology network. TGW KingDrive\u00ae connects the individual functional areas and transports cartons, trays, and soft packaging quickly, efficiently, and reliably. The innovative technology relies on gearless, maintenance-free motor rollers and combines high performance with long lifespan and low total cost of ownership.<\/p>\n

Together with Abena, TGW has developed a customized concept to optimally utilize the available space. “We are very pleased to support the customer with our intralogistics expertise and experience, and to work closely with Ole Cordes, Head of Technical Operations and Support at Abena,” emphasizes Hans Gjers, Business Development Manager at TGW Scandinavia.<\/p>\n

In addition, Abena also relies on TGW’s service expertise. The lifetime services contract includes a maintenance and spare parts package, ensuring the highest plant availability during ongoing operations.<\/p>\n
