The Study Society for Combined Transport e.V. (SGKV) and Beuth University of Applied Sciences launched the SYSLOG2 project on April 1, 2021, with the aim of actively increasing the share of combined transport content in logistics vocational training. As part of the two-and-a-half-year project, a digital combined transport module will be developed to make combined transport more learnable during logistics vocational training.<\/p>\n

(Berlin) Combined transport still holds a very subordinate position in logistics training, even though it is considered the royal discipline in transport planning and has enormous potential for future CO2 savings in freight transport. However, without sufficient understanding of the combined transport system, tomorrow’s transport planners will not rely on combined transport. The development and provision of a digital combined transport module aims to close this gap and prepare young professionals for combined transport in the future, as knowledge is the foundation for more environmentally friendly transport.<\/p>\n

The SYSLOG2 project, funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), builds on the results of the predecessor project SYSLOG+, in which a digital interactive learning tool for learning the combined transport system was successfully developed and tested, known as the virtual logistics laboratory.<\/p>\n

Public Workshops Planned<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The goal of the follow-up project SYSLOG2 is to expand the virtual logistics laboratory and integrate it into a combined transport module that can be used as a teaching and learning tool by trainees, teachers, and trainers. The combined transport module is intended to be integrated into logistics vocational training both content-wise and didactically in the long term, while also making an important contribution to the provision of digital educational content.<\/p>\n

Public workshops are already planned for this year to incorporate practical requirements into the combined transport module.<\/p>\n

About SGKV e.V.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The Study Society for Combined Transport e.V. (SGKV) is a non-profit association aimed at researching and promoting combined transport as a rational mode of transport in Germany and Europe. By combining the strengths of all modes of transport, SGKV aims to sustainably support the development of an efficient and environmentally friendly freight transport system. The association, based in Berlin, includes over 80 members from all areas of logistics, from shippers to transport companies to end customers. The main activities of SGKV include advising members, participating in national and international research projects, and providing consulting services for public and commercial institutions. SGKV offers a neutral and open platform for knowledge transfer and promotes the exchange of experiences in the areas of transport, environment, standardization, trends, and security of combined transport.<\/p>\n
