Austrian Post now delivers packages to customers’ homes even in their absence. Shipments will be placed at home. Customers can sign up for this service starting now. The new service is called ‘Foyer Delivery’. The solution is offered with the support of partners A1 and Nuki Home Solutions.<\/p>\n

(Vienna) Austrian Post already offers innovative solutions for receiving shipments: Whether it’s a mail reception box, delivery authorization, pickup stations, or package redirects \u2013 customers can choose individually. An initial delivery success rate of almost 95 percent confirms the success of the broad offering. The companies A1, Nuki Home Solutions, and the Post are cooperating and testing a special delivery solution for interested customers: the Foyer Delivery.<\/p>\n

“Austrian Post is a leading innovator in the European parcel market; we are always in tune with the times and develop new solutions for our customers. With Foyer Delivery, we are revolutionizing the delivery process by allowing packages to be delivered into the apartment or house even when recipients are absent. With A1 and Nuki Home Solutions, we have found two strong partners who will actively support us in testing this new delivery solution,” explains DI Peter Umundum, Board Member for Parcel & Logistics of Austrian Post AG.<\/p>\n

Doormat Marks the Delivery Spot for Packages<\/strong><\/h5>\n

And here’s how it works: The door is equipped with a Nuki Smart Lock. The recipient actively grants the delivery person permission to open the door using a handheld device. A doormat in the foyer marks the spot where the package should be placed. A1’s smart home devices are optional, allowing recipients to view the delivery live or up to 72 hours afterward.<\/p>\n

“A future without physical keys has been our vision from the beginning. Not only because it’s practical, but because the virtual key significantly simplifies the everyday life of Nuki users,” explains Martin Pansy, founder and CEO of Nuki Home Solutions. “With Foyer Delivery, reality takes a big step towards our vision. 100 Participants Needed for Open Testing Phase<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Internal tests were already conducted at the end of last year, where the technical feasibility was checked, and initial experiences with the new delivery method were gathered. Feedback from testers and delivery personnel was very positive.<\/p>\n

Starting now, 100 interested customers have the opportunity to sign up for testing the new Foyer Delivery. A delivery address in Vienna, Lower Austria, or Graz and the ability to install a Nuki Smart Lock are prerequisites. Applications can be submitted until May 23, and selected participants will be informed in early June. The required hardware will be provided free of charge for the testing period, and there will be a personal meeting with the delivery person before the start of deliveries, during which permission for the Smart Lock will also be granted. The test itself will take place from July to December. Registration is possible directly at post.at\/vorzimmer-zustellung. Foyer Delivery can also be combined with AllesPost \u2013 making it possible for the Post to deliver all packages and online orders directly to the foyer. All testers will receive a voucher for a free year of AllesPost as a small thank you.<\/p>\n

Recipients Know Their Delivery Personnel Personally<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Foyer Delivery is carried out exclusively by regular delivery personnel, so recipients know ‘their’ delivery personnel personally. The delivery personnel will ring the bell before entering, in case the recipients are at home. If Foyer Delivery is not possible, the normal delivery process will apply \u2013 either a drop-off in a mail reception box or a deposit at a branch or with a postal partner.<\/p>\n
