The powerful solution consists of a shuttle warehouse, automated small parts warehouse (AKL), and commissioner hub lift system. The shuttle system features two temperature zones. The automation reduces lead times and accelerates deliveries.<\/p>\n<p>(Marchtrenk) In Norrk\u00f6ping, TGW is constructing a highly automated fulfillment center for the Swedish gastronomy wholesaler Martin &amp; Servera by March 2022. The company is consolidating its logistics at a central location and is laying the foundation for planned growth in the coming years with the new automation solution.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Thousands of Deliveries Daily<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Martin &amp; Servera is Sweden&#8217;s leading gastronomy specialist. The company, based in Stockholm, supplies thousands of restaurants, bars, and canteens daily with a wide range of food, beverages, and non-food items. Currently, the wholesaler operates four distribution centers. With the new fulfillment center, logistics for slow-moving items can be consolidated at a central location: This enables significant service improvements while simultaneously lowering costs. &#8220;This is our first investment of this magnitude in automation. We look forward to further collaboration with TGW on this strategically important project for us,&#8221; emphasizes Magnus Schultz, Head of Development at Martin &amp; Servera Logistics.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Shuttle with Two Temperature Zones<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The TGW solution includes a shuttle system with more than 35,000 storage locations in two temperature zones (normal and cool temperature). To optimize the use of available space, a triple-deep storage of containers is employed. An automated small parts warehouse (AKL) with 11,000 storage locations and Mustang E+ stacker cranes is used for replenishment. &#8220;The collaboration between the two companies is fantastic. The jointly developed solution will support Martin &amp; Servera in its successful growth trajectory,&#8221; emphasizes Christian Brink, Sales Project Manager at TGW Scandinavia.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Lifetime Services in Daily Operations<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Customer orders are processed at four high-performance picking workstations connected to the shuttle. The order containers with the chilled goods are buffered in a commissioner hub lift system in the final step before the orders are consolidated and subsequently shipped. Part of the project also includes a service and maintenance contract that includes onsite support from TGW specialists.
