During ongoing operations, Jungheinrich has expanded the fully automated pallet high-bay warehouse of the pump specialist by an additional aisle, creating space for 2,600 more pallet storage locations.<\/p>\n

(Hamburg\/Werdohl) In tranquility lies strength. Hidden champions have endurance and grow systematically. A prime example is Kracht GmbH from Werdohl in the Sauerland. As one of the leading German manufacturers of gear pumps, flow measurement technology, hydraulic components, and valves, the traditional company, which employs 400 people worldwide, designs, produces, and distributes its sophisticated products around the globe. To further optimize its high value-added depth, Kracht has now expanded the high-bay warehouse of its logistics center, newly built in 2017 in South Westphalia, by an additional aisle in collaboration with Jungheinrich.<\/p>\n

50 meters long and 23 meters high<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The 50-meter-long and 23-meter-high structure of the silo high-bay warehouse was widened by 7.5 meters. During ongoing operations and under challenging Corona conditions, space for approximately 2,600 additional pallets was created. As with the existing aisles of the high-bay warehouse, a storage and retrieval machine from Jungheinrich’s subsidiary MIAS is used here. With a payload of 1,000 kilograms, it is capable of realizing up to 30 double cycles with 15 relocations per hour.<\/p>\n

Kracht had only centralized its storage system with Jungheinrich about four years ago and built a two-aisle pallet high-bay warehouse and an automatic small parts warehouse with over 12,000 storage locations on 3,500 square meters, along with conveyor technology peripherals. In this context, a comprehensive restructuring of production logistics was carried out, and an innovative material flow concept was integrated, all controlled by the Jungheinrich WMS.<\/p>\n

Further expanding existing conveyor technology<\/strong><\/h5>\n

As part of the current expansion, Jungheinrich is also further expanding the existing conveyor technology for pallets and containers \u2013 including control and visualization. The Jungheinrich WMS, connected to Kracht’s existing merchandise management system, can be continuously adjusted dynamically.<\/p>\n

With the commissioning of the expansion, Kracht is setting another milestone in its comprehensive restructuring of factory logistics, which the company began four years ago in collaboration with Jungheinrich. The paths in production and logistics are thus completely set for the future and further growth.<\/p>\n
