Dematic has been commissioned to automate the processes of the new logistics center of Yandex.Market in the Moscow region. The solution is intended to increase sorting performance. The Dematic iQ software controls intralogistics processes. The distribution center is scheduled to open at the end of 2021.<\/p>\n

(Heusenstamm) Dematic is automating a new logistics complex for the Russian internet company Yandex in the Moscow region. As part of the expansion of its e-commerce business, the online shop provider Yandex.Market has tasked the intralogistics specialist with equipping the new logistics center with automation technology to achieve even faster and smoother fulfillment. For this purpose, Dematic is installing a high-performance crossbelt sorter as well as more than five kilometers of the Dematic Modular Conveyor System (MCS). The intralogistics specialist recently opened a branch in Moscow and is now recording its first major order with Yandex. The planned opening of the distribution center is scheduled for the end of 2021.<\/p>\n

Optimization of Growing E-Commerce Processes<\/strong><\/h5>\n

“We are proud that Yandex has chosen us as a partner to consolidate and optimize their growing e-commerce processes. For this, we provide a complete package of intralogistics expertise, technical quality, and personal support,” says Rainer Buchmann, CEO of Dematic Central Europe.<\/p>\n

Yandex is a multinational company founded in Russia with 18 offices worldwide. The provider of internet-related services operates the most used Russian search engine and is also active in the fields of transport, navigation, mobile applications, and online advertising.<\/p>\n

With the new construction and its automation, Yandex.Market has launched a major project in the Logistic Technopark Sofino near Moscow. The complex is being built on a universal site of 200,000 square meters. The core tasks of the automated distribution center include inbound, storage, batch picking, as well as the consolidation of products and shipping to logistics companies for further distribution to customers. It will also be equipped with a five-story intermediate floor for the storage and handling of goods. The centerpiece of the facility is the powerful Dematic Crossbelt Sorter, which is intended to ensure high sorting performance for order assembly. The automated systems are connected via approximately five kilometers of the Dematic MCS.<\/p>\n

Connection to the WMS<\/strong><\/h5>\n

In addition, Dematic provides the PLC control as well as its proprietary Dematic iQ software and integrates it with Yandex’s Warehouse Management System (WMS). Together, the IT solutions ensure efficient e-commerce fulfillment.<\/p>\n

Aleksei Salnikov, head of the Supply Chain Development and Planning department at Yandex.Market, explains why the company decided to use modern technology from Dematic: “They convinced us with their global expertise and proven systems for e-commerce. With this well-thought-out intralogistics solution, we are confident that we can process our customers’ orders to their complete satisfaction.”<\/p>\n
