BLG Logistics is planning a new location for automotive logistics in the GVZ Bremen with the help of Logivest. The complex will be realized by the developer Baytree Logistics Properties. The logistics property sets new standards in terms of ecology and equipment. Construction is set to begin in spring 2021, and the commissioning is expected to take place in mid-2022.<\/p>\n
(Bremen) <\/strong>In Germany’s largest freight transport center, the GVZ in Bremen, the logistics service provider BLG LOGISTICS is planning a new site for industrial logistics. From approximately mid-2022, the production supply for the global assembly plants of a leading automobile manufacturer will be consolidated from several current locations in Bremen into the new logistics center. The construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2021.<\/p>\n After the recent approval from all committees, the signing of the land purchase agreement by the investor and the WFB Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung Bremen GmbH, which develops and markets the municipal commercial areas on behalf of Bremen, can take place. On behalf of BLG LOGISTICS, Logivest GmbH conducted a multi-stage bidding process as a logistics real estate consultant, in which the developer Baytree Logistics Properties, specialized in industrial and logistics properties, was selected for the realization of the property. Logivest will continue to support this forward-looking project with professional expertise. BLG LOGISTICS will manage the 152,000 square meter plot with a logistics property of over 95,000 square meters.<\/p>\n The new logistics center will be named C3-Bremen, where \u201cC3\u201d stands for customer, climate, and comfort. “C3-Bremen is a powerful and future-oriented new construction project that gives us the opportunity to bring together customer wishes, sustainability, and employee needs in an outstanding way,” says Jens Wollesen, Board Member CONTRACT of BLG LOGISTICS.<\/p>\n With intelligent intralogistics planning and efficient workflows, the logistics processing will be tailored to customer needs. The processes within the new facility will follow the lean management principle and are intended to be supported by a forward-looking degree of automation and digitization. From C3-Bremen, the logistics service provider BLG will provide sustainable and efficient supply for the overseas assembly plants of a renowned automobile manufacturer. The extensive services include not only automotive parts logistics, set formation, and containerization but also the export of assembly parts. Around 500 employees will provide these complex logistics services in streamlined and robust processes at the highest quality level in the new logistics center. “The new development project of BLG fits perfectly with the freight transport center Bremen with its high logistics competence and will enrich the location,” says Andreas Heyer, Chairman of the Management Board of WFB Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung Bremen GmbH. “It is particularly pleasing that the project is associated with securing many qualified jobs in automotive logistics and that an environmentally friendly approach contributes to climate protection at the same time,” says Heyer.<\/p>\n In addition to a comprehensive energy concept that provides for CO2-neutral operation of the property, a DGNB certification in gold as a climate-positive building is being pursued. Among other things, it is planned to install a photovoltaic system on the entire roof area. A solar thermal system is intended to support the heating system and hot water production. The building envelope is deliberately insulated above average. “BLG has set itself the goal of becoming a climate-neutral company by 2030. The new location is a lighthouse with a view to sustainability,” says Jens Wollesen, Board Member CONTRACT of BLG LOGISTICS. The facility meets the highest energy standards and is a milestone on the way to more climate protection. “With C3-Bremen, the Hanseatic city and the GVZ are sending a clear signal and taking an important step towards the future. The topic of sustainability has long arrived in logistics, but it needs innovative projects like C3 to push it further forward,” says Kuno Neumeier, CEO of Logivest.<\/p>\n The new project is intended to convince not only in terms of design. Stay and outdoor areas will be developed according to a well-being concept for people and the environment to make the work environment more pleasant. The health of employees at the workplace is the focus of this new construction project.
