Hornbach Baumarkt AG expands its truck fleet with 34 new Mercedes-Benz Actros of the latest generation. These come from the Mercedes-Benz plant in W\u00f6rth. The new vehicles are tailored to the requirements of the DIY store operator and are equipped with the latest safety technology.<\/p>\n

(Stuttgart\/Bornheim) Just rolled off the production line at the Mercedes-Benz plant in W\u00f6rth and already in use: Hornbach Baumarkt AG relies on proven quality from Mercedes-Benz for the expansion of its truck fleet. Several vehicles from the Actros and Atego series are already on the road for the DIY and gardening company \u2013 this year they will receive a total of 34 additional Mercedes-Benz Actros of the latest generation. Dr. Matthias Jurytko, Head of Site and Production at the W\u00f6rth plant, recently handed over the first vehicles at the customer center of the Mercedes-Benz plant in W\u00f6rth to representatives from Hornbach, Andreas Back, Head of Quality Management & Environment, and Dominic Bendel, Customer Logistics Germany.<\/p>\n

Adjustment of the Logistics Concept for Customer Delivery<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The growing Hornbach Group is currently adjusting its logistics concept for customer delivery and significantly expanding its own fleet in this process. The truck fleet of the DIY specialist mainly consists of vehicles from the Mercedes-Benz brand. With the latest generation of Actros, additional trucks are now being added that are tailored to the special requirements of the internationally operating company: The Actros 2545L, equipped with a construction platform and crane, as well as the Actros 1833L with curtainsider and retractable loading platform for easier loading and unloading. Both models feature the unique MirrorCam, which operates with digital cameras and displays instead of conventional exterior mirrors, as well as an interactive multimedia cockpit. In addition, the vehicles are equipped with the latest assistance and safety systems, such as Active Brake Assist 5, Predictive Powertrain Control, and turning, lane-keeping, and distance assistants.<\/p>\n

About the Mercedes-Benz Plant W\u00f6rth<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The largest truck assembly plant of Mercedes-Benz Trucks in W\u00f6rth am Rhein was founded in 1963 and produces the Mercedes-Benz trucks Arocs, Atego \u2013 and for more than 20 years, the world’s most successful heavy truck, the Actros. The Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks Econic, Unimog, and Zetros are also built here. Customers of Mercedes-Benz Trucks have more than a million options to configure their vehicle. This means that every truck produced in W\u00f6rth is unique. Up to 470 trucks, manufactured exactly to customer specifications, can leave the W\u00f6rth plant each day. Customers in over 150 countries appreciate the “Quality made in W\u00f6rth.” The location on the Rhine is the competence center for Mercedes-Benz trucks in the global production network. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz plant W\u00f6rth has over 50 years of experience in CKD production (Completely Knocked Down) and delivers vehicle kits to numerous overseas markets for local assembly \u2013 to date, more than 750,000 kits. With around 10,300 employees, the Mercedes-Benz plant W\u00f6rth is the second-largest employer in Rhineland-Palatinate.<\/p>\n
