Gomultimodal GmbH, a consulting company for combined transport, has been commissioned to conduct a feasibility study for a combined terminal in Bad Hersfeld. The client is The Filament Factory GmbH (formerly Hoechst Faserwerke) in Bad Hersfeld, the owner of the proposed site.<\/p>\n

(Bad Hersfeld\/Hamburg) The owners of The Filament Factory GmbH, Bad Hersfeld (formerly Hoechst Faserwerke) have commissioned the Hamburg-based consulting company Gomultimodal, which specializes in combined freight transport, to examine the feasibility of establishing a terminal for combined transport (rail\/road) on the company premises.<\/p>\n

A minimum area of 60,000 square meters is available for the realization of the terminal, where depending on the design, a track length of up to 740 meters under the crane is possible. The site is centrally located in Germany, with short access routes to the federal highways A4, A5, and A7, as well as the DB network section 3600 between G\u00f6ttingen and Frankfurt.<\/p>\n

Located on the Scandinavia-Mediterranean Corridor<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The rail section is part of the Scandinavia-Mediterranean Corridor in the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), a crucial freight transport axis for the European economy. The short distance of 14 kilometers to Bebra, one of the largest marshalling yards in Germany, allows for various connection and utilization options for combined transport in Germany and Europe.<\/p>\n

Over 50 renowned industrial, trade, and logistics companies are located within a 20-kilometer road distance from the planned site for the combined transport terminal. In a catchment area of up to 150 kilometers, approximately 6 million people live. Therefore, a central terminal location in Germany could be of interest to both politics and companies in pursuing climate policy goals.<\/p>\n
