Alfred Schuon GmbH is investing five million euros in a new and modern fleet. The total investment amounts to 86 new acquisitions, including trucks, forklifts, and vans. With five LNG vehicles, the family business is taking the next step towards a transportation transition.<\/p>\n

(Haiterbach) – The Schuon Group has modernized its fleet once again. Among the new vehicles are 40 tractors and trucks from the premium brands Daimler and MAN, 35 trailers and semitrailers, as well as vans and forklifts. The new acquisitions are distributed across locations in Germany and Hungary. For the first time, there are also natural gas vehicles from Iveco and Scania, which are to be put into operation by the end of the year at the latest.<\/p>\n

Further investments in a lower-emission fleet<\/strong><\/h5>\n

“The regular renewal of our fleet is an important part of our Green Logistics strategy,” explains Alexander Schuon, managing director of Alfred Schuon GmbH. The company from Haiterbach in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg invested around five million euros in new vehicles in 2020. “To meet our environmental standards and further reduce our CO2 emissions, we need a modern fleet that complies with current emission standards,” says the managing director.<\/p>\n

Customer value through comprehensive offerings<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Among the new acquisitions, which will be used in both Germany and the Hungarian branches, are not only ultralight and jumbo vehicles but also special equipment such as forklifts or a lightweight steel dump trailer for construction site operations. “To provide our customers with individual logistics solutions and the usual service, we want to position ourselves as broadly as possible,” says Schuon.<\/p>\n

LNG technology with significantly lower CO2 emissions<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Another special feature of this year’s modernization: “By the end of the year, we will acquire five LNG vehicles to gain initial experience with this alternative drive technology,” says Schuon. Compared to diesel, they emit significantly less nitrogen oxides and CO2, and they are also much quieter. “A necessary condition for this decision was the reliable and comprehensive supply of liquefied natural gas,” explains the managing director. A corresponding network of filling stations is currently being expanded.<\/p>\n
