A total range of approximately 600 kilometers is expected on a single tank. An annual reduction of about 82 tons of CO2 per vehicle is anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>(Cologne) Approximately 70 percent of CO2 emissions from commercial vehicles in Japan come from trucks and buses with a total weight over 3.5 tons. To significantly reduce these emissions, Toyota and its commercial vehicle subsidiary Hino are jointly developing electrified solutions. The first fuel cell trucks with a total weight of 25 tons are set to begin practical testing in spring 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Together with partner companies from the logistics and beverage industries, the trucks will operate various routes across Japan based on the Hino Profia, emitting only water vapor. With a total range of about 600 kilometers, the fuel cell trucks can complete all routes without refueling.<\/p>\n<p>Compared to conventional diesel trucks, it is expected that the use of hydrogen-powered vehicles will save about 82 tons of CO2 annually on a daily route of 500 kilometers.
