For a long time, it was unclear whether the Logistics Summit could take place as an in-person event, but on October 1st, it finally happened. After moving from Hamburg to Hanover, the event went live. For the 500 participants, it was worth it, as many interesting lectures and workshops took place. Felix Fiege from Fiege AG opened as the keynote speaker, and the startup Theftex won the first Logistics Summit Startup Award.<\/p>\n

(Hamburg\/Hanover) The organizers of the first Logistics Summit spared no effort to ensure that their event could indeed be held as an in-person gathering. The most important measure was relocating the event from the Millerntor Stadium in Hamburg to Exhibition Hall 2 in Hanover to fully meet the requirements for the Corona measures.<\/p>\n

And it was worth it. The Logistics Summit could actually take place, rewarding around 500 participants. Thus, the Logistics Summit is the largest live event in logistics this year. In fact, considering the development of Corona numbers, it might also be the last.<\/p>\n

Participants had no reason to regret their attendance, as they were offered an exciting and varied program, consisting of many lectures, workshops, and the awarding of a Logistics Summit Startup Award.<\/p>\n

Logistics Summit Startup Awards<\/h5>\n

The winner of this award was determined by the participants, and it remained very exciting, with votes evenly distributed among all competitors. The top three places ultimately went to:<\/p>\n

Among the keynote speakers, Felix Fiege from Fiege Logistics was the first to speak. He addressed the topic of “Digitalization in Family Businesses.” In a general overview of digitalization in logistics, Fiege explained that what is already well advanced in the B2C sector will also follow in the B2B sector. There will be more transparency in data. Additionally, things like the “Internet of Things,” blockchain, or “autonomous driving” will shape logistics in the future.<\/p>\n

“The New Against the Old Carriers”<\/strong><\/p>\n

As further speakers on the topic of “Digitalization and Innovation in Logistics,” Carl-Friedrich zu Knyphausen from Zalando and Oliver Kraftsik from ASOS also spoke. There were various panels, including one with the exciting title: “The New Against the Old Carriers.” Representing the “Old” were Markus Sontheimer from DB Schenker and Markus Johannsen from K\u00fchne+Nagel, competing against Janis Bargsten from Flexport and Michael Wax from Forto. The “duel” was moderated by Johannes Berg from Digital Hub Logistics in Hamburg.<\/p>\n

In parallel, many workshops on various topics in logistics also took place.<\/p>\n

After the event, a visibly satisfied Thomas Promny from the organizer Velvet Ventures GmbH said: “The event had to be conducted under difficult conditions. Nevertheless, it was clear that participants wanted to make personal contacts again and speak live with each other. Therefore, it was worth holding on to the in-person event.”<\/p>\n

The premiere has thus created a desire for more. The date for the next Logistics Summit is already set. It will take place over two days, on October 13 and 14, 2021. Hamburg is again planned as the venue.<\/p>\n
