With over 1,000 participants, the ‘Future Congress Logistics – 38th Dortmund Talks’ recorded the largest number of attendees in its history in its digital version. During the congress, the Digital Logistics Award was also presented. The Duisburg start-up gapcharge secured first place and 15,000 euros.<\/p>\n

(Dortmund) Under the motto ‘From Revolution to Transformation – with Artificial Intelligence into the Silicon Economy’, representatives from science and industry discussed the opportunities and challenges of a new platform economy as well as current research results and practical examples from September 15 to 17, 2020.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>The winners of the Digital Logistics Awards 2020, one of the most prestigious awards in the logistics start-up scene, have been determined: The start-ups gapcharge, Boxwise, and Everstox have made it to the top three positions in the competition for the most innovative digital solutions for logistics. The winners were able to receive prize money totaling 24,000 euros during the ‘Future Congress Logistics – 38th Dortmund Talks’ on September 16.<\/p>\n

The final of the Digital Logistics Awards took place on the first day of the digital ‘Future Congress Logistics – 38th Dortmund Talks’. In advance, an expert jury had nominated eight start-ups and start-ins that had applied for the ‘Digital Hub Logistics’ award with their digital and innovative logistics solutions.<\/p>\n

Wireless Charging System for E-Logistics and Light Vehicles<\/h5>\n

The first place and thus the prize of 15,000 euros was secured by the team from the start-up gapcharge from Duisburg. The company has developed a wireless charging system for electric logistics and light vehicles such as logistics scooters, which, in conjunction with digital condition monitoring, makes logistics processes more efficient. The idea convinced the participants of the ‘Future Congress Logistics’, who were able to vote on the winners after the digital pitches of the eight finalists.<\/p>\n

Boxwise, based in Rotterdam, secured second place \u2013 the first social start-up ever at the Digital Logistics Award. With their online platform Boxtribute, the young entrepreneurs aim to ensure that humanitarian aid deliveries arrive faster in crisis areas and are distributed better. The founders had worked as volunteers in a refugee camp in Greece a few years ago. With second place at the Digital Logistics Award, Boxwise secured a check for 6,000 euros.<\/p>\n

Third place, associated with a prize of 3,000 euros, went to the Munich start-up Everstox, which aims to challenge Amazon with its API-driven platform for warehousing and logistics. The solution offers flexible warehousing logistics and fulfillment services for e-commerce, wholesale, and retail companies, promoting the growth of offline and online shops in Germany, Great Britain, and across Europe.<\/p>\n
