The cargo airline Lufthansa Cargo welcomes its eighth cargo aircraft of the Boeing 777F type in Frankfurt. The new plane is named ‘Namaste India’, taken from a decommissioned freighter of the same name. Another aircraft is expected in a few weeks.<\/p>\n

(Frankfurt) On Monday, August 31, at 7:26 AM local time, a brand new Boeing 777F landed at Frankfurt Airport (FRA). The cargo aircraft with the registration D-ALFH was en route for 9 hours and 24 minutes as flight LH8145 after its departure from Everett Airport (PAE) in the state of Washington, USA. It is the eighth aircraft of this type in Lufthansa Cargo’s freighter fleet.<\/p>\n

“Investments in our fleet are a significant contribution to sustainably improving our economic and ecological efficiency. We want to make air freight as fast, safe, and environmentally friendly as possible,” said Peter Gerber, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo.<\/p>\n

The new aircraft is named ‘Namaste India’, which it has taken from a previously decommissioned aircraft with the registration D-ALCJ.<\/p>\n

Next Aircraft to Follow in a Few Weeks<\/h5>\n

Lufthansa Cargo announced the purchase of two brand new cargo aircraft in November 2019. The next aircraft is already expected in a few weeks. The new additions are part of a fleet modernization that began in 2014 and will be completed next year.<\/p>\n

The twin-engine Boeing 777F is about 20 percent more efficient and emits less CO2 than the previously used three-engine type MD-11F. Additionally, the new model meets the strict noise protection requirements of ICAO Annex 16, Volume I, Chapter 14.<\/p>\n
