Lufthansa Cargo honors the customer DB Schenker with the ‘Excellence Award’. Both parties emphasize the good partnership and express their satisfaction with the progress in digitalization. The ‘Excellence Award’ has been awarded by Lufthansa Cargo since 2002.<\/p>\n

(Frankfurt\/Main) The cargo airline recognized the outstanding achievements in global collaboration over the past year, which was particularly reflected in joint growth in Europe as well as in other important markets.<\/p>\n

Peter Gerber, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo AG, emphasized the special connection between the two companies: “Not only is the economic development of Lufthansa Cargo and DB Schenker pleasing, but also that both companies managed to advance digitalization in the industry together last year.”<\/p>\n

Excellent Partnership<\/h5>\n

“The collaboration between DB Schenker and Lufthansa Cargo was characterized by an excellent partnership in 2019. We are proud that a large share of DB Schenker’s air freight was flown with Lufthansa Cargo last year,” said Dorothea von Boxberg, Board Member for Sales and Product at Lufthansa Cargo. The collaboration was particularly close in both standard freight and special products.<\/p>\n

Peter Gerber presented the award together with Dorothea von Boxberg to Jochen Thewes, CEO of Schenker AG, and Thorsten Meincke, Board Member for Air and Sea Freight at Schenker AG.<\/p>\n

“For our global logistics network, we rely on the long-standing, trusting partnership with Lufthansa Cargo, which, like us, has made excellence its standard,” said Jochen Thewes, CEO of Schenker AG. “We thank Lufthansa Cargo for this award and for what we have achieved together in the past year.”<\/p>\n

Recognition for Employees<\/h5>\n

“We are pleased to continue working constructively with Lufthansa Cargo on innovative solutions for air freight,” said Thorsten Meincke, Board Member for Air and Sea Freight at Schenker AG. “The Excellence Award is a recognition for the employees of both companies, who give their best for their customers every day.”<\/p>\n

Lufthansa Cargo’s Global Partnership Program is a central platform for sustainable growth of Lufthansa Cargo and its largest customers. The eleven Global Partners, which include DB Schenker as well as companies like Kuehne+Nagel, CEVA, Dachser, DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, DSV, Expeditors, Hellmann, Nippon Express, and UPS, account for about a third of Lufthansa Cargo’s revenue. The ‘Excellence Award’ has been awarded since 2002.<\/p>\n
