The German toy manufacturer Schleich is now handling sea freight CO2-neutrally with K\u00fchne+Nagel. The current market environment does not deter customers from addressing the CO2 emissions of their supply chains. With Net Zero Carbon, K\u00fchne+Nagel offers a complete solution for achieving CO2 neutrality.<\/p>\n

(Schindellegi\/Hamburg) Even in the currently volatile market environment, solutions for climate-neutral supply chains are in high demand. K\u00fchne+Nagel will now handle the entire sea freight business of Schleich GmbH, one of the largest toy manufacturers in Germany and an internationally leading provider of realistic animal figures, in a CO2-neutral manner.<\/p>\n

“The decisive factor for our decision was K\u00fchne+Nagel’s Net Zero Carbon program, which sets new standards with CO2-neutral logistics. We are pleased about this collaboration on equal terms with the same values for the environment and people,” says Dirk Engehausen, Managing Director of Schleich GmbH.<\/p>\n

As part of the Net Zero Carbon program, K\u00fchne+Nagel offers Schleich a complete solution for achieving CO2 neutrality. By choosing particularly climate-friendly sea freight routes and compensating for the remaining emissions with CO2 certificates, the sea freight of the Swabian toy manufacturer is shipped climate-neutrally. K\u00fchne+Nagel takes care of the entire processing and the smooth coordination with the rest of the supply chain.<\/p>\n

With Net Zero Carbon, K\u00fchne+Nagel not only supports customers on their path to climate neutrality; the company has also set ambitious climate goals for itself. By the end of 2020, its own CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and 2 of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol) will be neutralized; by 2030, all transports of suppliers (Scope 3) will also be included.<\/p>\n

Otto Schacht, a member of the management board of K\u00fchne+Nagel International AG, responsible for sea freight, comments: “Our new partnership with Schleich shows that K\u00fchne+Nagel is in tune with the times with Net Zero Carbon. The key factor was our ability to offer Schleich a coordinated package for the CO2-neutral handling of sea freight.
