Pharmaserv Logistics based in Marburg has received approval for its distribution center in Gro\u00df-Gerau for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. Thus, Pharmaserv has 8,600 m\u00b2 of pharmaceutical logistics space near Frankfurt Airport.<\/p>\n

(Gro\u00df-Gerau) The new Pharma Airfreight Hub and distribution center of Pharmaserv Logistics in Gro\u00df-Gerau has been successfully inspected by the Regierungspr\u00e4sidium Darmstadt and has thus received approval for the storage of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. This gives the Marburg-based pharmaceutical logistics provider an additional 8,600 m\u00b2 of highly developed pharmaceutical logistics space close to the airport.<\/p>\n

In addition to a comprehensive quality management system, many other requirements are associated with the storage of pharmaceuticals. For this purpose, the pharmaceutical logistics provider specialized in biologics (blood products, vaccines, and insulins) has implemented a sophisticated storage concept that more than meets these requirements.<\/p>\n

The new facility not only offers a high security standard with fences, staffed gates, access controls, and video surveillance but also special cooling docks to ensure an uninterrupted cold chain. Furthermore, Pharmaserv Logistics naturally covers other industry-standard requirements such as pest control, temperature monitoring, and a validated warehouse management system. Additionally, the warehouse features a sprinkler system and a special floor design that allows for the storage of water-hazardous substances.<\/p>\n

Two-thirds of the available storage areas operate at +15\u00b0 to +25\u00b0C. One-third of the areas are available for the temperature range of +2\u00b0 to +8\u00b0C. A large deep-freeze cell has been installed in the cooling room for the conditioning of cool packs for passive air freight shipping. In the coming weeks, a dedicated roller bed track will be integrated into the qualified warehouse building to enable temperature-monitored loading of actively cooled air freight containers in the future.<\/p>\n

To ensure that companies without their own air freight security status as a \u201cKnown Shipper\u201d can also send secure air freight, Pharmaserv Logistics will operate an X-ray facility in a GDP environment at +15\u00b0 to +25\u00b0C. The route from the cold storage to the X-ray facility and the roller bed is kept extra short, so that +2\u00b0 to +8\u00b0C products can also be easily X-rayed and stacked.<\/p>\n
