The new service is intended for patients who are unwell, possibly bedridden. A trip to the pharmacy or waiting time at the doctor\u2019s office can become a lengthy and laborious affair. The health insurer Visana now offers relief with the customer service ‘Same Day Delivery’ – which, according to its own statements, is the fastest home delivery service for medications in Switzerland. Visana will test its new free service starting in Winter 2020 in a six-month pilot phase in the cities of Bern, Basel, Zurich, Lausanne, and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
The New Service: Simple, Fast, and Convenient<\/p>\n
The exclusive and innovative medication service is the result of a collaboration with the Swiss telemedicine provider Medi24. It is available free of charge to all Visana customers in Bern, Basel, Zurich, Lausanne, and surrounding areas. Insured individuals receive telemedical advice from a medical professional after calling Medi24. This professional decides whether a medication treatment is necessary and sends the corresponding prescription directly to a partner pharmacy. Medi24 then initiates the delivery of the prescription medication, which arrives at the insured person’s location within a maximum of three hours via bicycle courier.”We want our insured individuals to receive the medications they need quickly and easily. With the new home delivery service for medications, we provide exactly that.
