Feb 20, 2026 at 11:33 AMThe Deutsche Post has announced that it will invest a mid-double-digit million amount in the modernization of its approximately 12,600 partner branches in Germany. The aim of this measure is to accelerate and enhance the reliability of processing postal services in the branches. The new hardware, developed in collaboration with the IT service provider Diebold Nixdorf, includes modernized PC systems, new label and receipt printers, as well as mobile handheld scanners.
Nationwide rollout after successful pilot phase
A pilot phase lasting about six months, conducted in approximately 1,000 branches, has been successfully completed according to Deutsche Post. The nationwide rollout of the new equipment is scheduled to take place during the year 2026. Holger Bartels, Head of Branches and Automation in the Post & Parcel Germany division of the DHL Group, emphasizes the importance of partner branches for the company: “Our partner branches are and will remain one of the most important pillars in our network. That is why we are investing and modernizing equipment and IT.”
