Kühne+Nagel expands air freight network in Frankfurt
Jun 9, 2026 at 8:43 AMThe Descartes Systems Group has announced the launch of its new „Fleet Data Intelligence™ platform,“ which is part of the Global Logistics Network™ (GLN). This platform integrates a new AI agent designed to help companies enhance the efficiency of their fleets. By utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML), companies are expected to increase the timeliness of their deliveries, improve customer service, and reduce costs per delivery, as stated by the company.
Optimizing fleet performance through AI
The AI agent, also known as „René,“ enables simplified analysis of fleet performance according to the manufacturer. It provides real-time insights and identifies long-term improvement potentials without the need for extensive data analysis or specialized knowledge. Planners, dispatchers, and operations managers can interact directly with the agent to obtain answers to questions related to fleet performance. For example, they can find out why certain routes were completed faster during a specific period or what factors lead to overtime.
Furthermore, „René“ analyzes large volumes of operational data to recognize systemic patterns and identify inefficiencies. For instance, if a group of drivers regularly covers additional miles due to manual route deviations, the AI agent can uncover the underlying causes and suggest measures to improve fleet performance.
