Mar 30, 2026 at 1:24 PMThe German discount retailer Aldi has opened a new distribution center at the Wuxi Airport Logistics Park in East China. This is the company’s second project in collaboration with GLP, a provider of logistics solutions. The opening of the new center follows the successful launch of the first distribution center at the GLP Shanghai Neo Northwest Park last year. This development highlights the growing partnership between Aldi and GLP, as well as the increasing demand for modern logistics infrastructure to support the rising domestic consumption in China.
The new distribution center in Wuxi spans an area of approximately 36,000 m² and features both dry and refrigerated storage to accommodate a variety of fresh, chilled, and shelf-stable products. The cold chain operations are managed by GFS, GLP’s in-house provider of cold chain services. GFS is one of the largest integrated providers of cold chain logistics in China, managing 4.2 million m³ of refrigerated space to serve leading retailers in the food and beverage sector.
Strategic Location and Efficiency Improvement
The new center is located in close proximity to Wuxi Airport (WUX) and within the high-density consumption corridor of the Yangtze Delta. This strategic location enhances delivery efficiency to Aldi stores in Wuxi, Shanghai, Suzhou, and the surrounding markets. This strengthens Aldi’s regional distribution capability to meet the growing customer base in East China.
