Mar 26, 2026 at 9:06 AMHiSERV, a service provider for Ground Service Equipment (GSE) at airports founded in 2016 and based in Berlin, has announced the establishment of HiSERV North America to expand its global rental platform in the USA and Canada. This expansion aims to support the growing demand for flexible financing models for ground support equipment in North America.
The new platform will offer airlines, ground handlers, and airport operators in the USA and Canada leasing solutions tailored to the needs of the industry. This includes support for GSE sharing models. HiSERV North America is intended to help partners modernize their fleets, optimize capital allocation, and accelerate the adoption of next-generation technologies as well as electric GSE.
The expansion is supported by long-term institutional capital, enabling HiSERV North America to grow its fleet and support customers over multi-year investment cycles. Additionally, the company plans to actively contribute to sustainability at airports by promoting the financing of electric and low-emission GSE fleets. The platform is designed to allow disciplined investment in fleets and a scalable portfolio while airlines and ground handlers modernize their ground support infrastructure.
North America is considered the largest aviation market in the world and is undergoing a significant modernization cycle for fleets and infrastructure, affecting airlines, airports, and ground handling organizations. HiSERV’s expansion reflects the company’s commitment to building a global leasing company capable of supporting its partners over long-term investment cycles.
Roland Ueckert, CEO of the HiSERV Group, commented on this move: „HiSERV’s expansion into North America represents a natural evolution of our global platform. We see significant opportunities to collaborate with airlines, ground handlers, and airports seeking flexible financing solutions to support fleet modernization and operational growth.“
The leadership of HiSERV North America, based in Oak Brook, Illinois, will be taken on by Erin O’Donnell, who is responsible for building the North American operations. She will be supported by Matt Weitzel, who has joined the company as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and David Farias, who serves as Director of Sales.
O’Donnell emphasized the importance of long-term partnerships and disciplined asset management: „We are launching HiSERV North America with a clear focus on execution, capital discipline, and long-term partnerships. Our goal is to build a high-quality portfolio structure and establish HiSERV as a trusted partner by consistently providing service and solutions that align with our customers‘ operational and financial objectives.“
