Felbermayr expanding heavylift capacities
Mar 17, 2026 at 9:53 AMLufthansa Cargo is integrating additional services more strongly into its digital booking process. Customers can enhance their air freight shipments with further services and make the handling more flexible.
The offer is based on a modular concept. After selecting the product and transport speed, suitable additional services are automatically displayed. These are transparently priced and can be directly integrated into the booking. Some services, such as ‚to door‘ and ‚insurance‘, are still beinbg implemented.
More flexibility in transport
Currently, five add-on services are available. They include ’sustainable choice‘, which allows customers to support the use of sustainable aviation fuel. ‚Personal supervision‘ enables personal accompaniment for sensitive art transports, while ’smart ULD‘ offers real-time monitoring of temperature-sensitive goods.
The offer is complemented by delivery solutions via truck and transport insurance. The goal is to better reflect individual requirements along the entire supply chain and to specifically adapt transport solutions.
By integrating ‚add-on services‘, Lufthansa Cargo is further advancing the digitalisation of customer processes and expanding its services.
